These wildfires have been something these days...I did not know that about wildfire being two syllables.

On the subject of haikus, I know a lot of times the Japense ones translated into English end up having more syllables.

I hope in the future some kind of protection will be afforded to those living in a fire belt.Your Haiku is so vivid.

Thank you, TAPS. Yes, it is very sad. The worst story I saw was of a guy who just lost his wife a couple weeks ago, and then lost his entire home. Really touching.

Thank you, BigV. I don't know how "good" this is, but it's my effort. I will write these when I have only a short amount of time with which to work. Tanka is also interesting.
