Re: CCT,

I think someone put a lot of caring into building it, it has a lot of home-made elements.

Re: Pat,

Yes, I find myself imagining going to the hardware store to find tiny paint rollers...

Some furniture and dolls came with it, but they are mostly in poor repair and the scales don't match up too well. I have thought of the home-made alternatives.

Someone loved it no doubt . I am sure you will restore it to it's former status. It looks like it was classy.

One thing about doing a doll house, you can reach the top of the wall

and paint the ceiling without having to climb up a ladder. Finding furniture will be fun, too - unless you or Charlie can make it.

They are really great! And for Elsa! Fabulous. I had one when I was little...

Re: TAPS,

you're funny!  Tomorrow!  No, but I did get the floors sanded smooth.  Painting the interior comes next, after taping over bits I don't want painted, like the windows.

That place sounds fascinating!  I saw an exhibit at the Smithsonian when I was a kiddie, and there was an elderly lady there showing how she made them. She showed us a little round pebble and a small button, then slapped the pebble down on the button and said, "Soap dish!"  And she was right!

Re: Kabu,

If only I actually finished them... I have three now, two started on renovations.  Eventually one will likely go to Elsa, maybe to be a project she and I work on together.

I had in mind auctioning the first one, but it went downstairs and if it isn't in front of me, I don't think much about it, so it has been stuck in place with the chimney not quite finished.

How interesting.  Will it be done by tomorrow?

We have a very nice Toy & Miniature Museum in Kansas City and an awful lot of it has to do with doll houses and fancy miniatures.  I love going there even though I've been there several times.
