So far, I haven't seen any mice or other rodents about the property except for a few squirrels that delight in teasing the dogs. As I did my walk today, I did notice that at least one skunk had signaled his discontent with someone! Be well.

That is very big. Mr. Graysome might be thinking about a feast.

Well, I gotta tell ya, that thing you took the picture of ain't a mouse - it's a RAT! I would gladly give you some detailed information about the difference, but as you know, I won't be around much longer...

In a little store in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, I was picking up a few muchies we were running out of.  I never even noticed until we got back to our camper nestled in a mountain wilderness overlooking Telluride that I had picked up a bag of Frito chips that had a live mouse inside eating his share.  He had made a hole in one corner and was going to town eating and leaving us little black presents.

I read that mice do not like the scent of mint. Mixed up some peppermint

extract & water in a little atomizer bottle - an extra that was for spritzing eyeglasses to clean them. If I remember to spritz around the door every day it also keeps the ants away.

Oh, S. Sister, this is so darling to read, and a fun poem you've given us! Thank you. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But a mouse in the house is no fun! Is that really him? Wow! Here's hoping he goes away soon. Real soon. Take care, dear sweet lady.

Very poetic some how you make me feel sorry for those little critters. If they did not pong so much they would make adorable pets especially if you had a snake.
