Yes, you were right. It was horrible. It meant a lot to know he was able to return to the water. My own doctor said she wouldn't have let her son go back in again. But, in this case, it would have been worse for our young guy to restrict him forever, like an undeserved punishment. Tough calls we must make at times.

Yes, it was pleasant for him, and though he did hit the water a little sooner than he should have, it was a mark of healing.
