Re: Kabu

You are totally right, dear Kabu, and for whomever it was designated, may not have been very nice. That would have been a scary thing to try to pull off, taking a sack of cash outta the track...

Re: Barry_Lee_Jones

Yes, me too, Barry. I wouldn't have even picked it up. One peek and I'd high-tail it outta there! It coulda been counterfeit, marked, or for or from someone dangerous, and --- it coulda been on video.

Re: BC-A

What is the legal amount one can keep? I didn't know about that law! Thank you.

Re: Pat

Makes sense to me, Pat. I'm glad. Wouldn't it be nice for that to come to one fairly? Thank you.

Re: C_C_T

Yes, in reality, it is all different. You probably would not have kept it - or would you? Thank you.

Re: Dear Aba Brother

I'm glad you turned it in. That was wise. Beside, one earring? Even if diamonds. Thank you.

I would have turned it in.

no way that sort of money lying around, it belongs to someone , actually I would never steal anything. never have except for one time and eventually owned up to my Dad and felt much better.

I probably wouldn't have even looked inside to find the money.  I'd have just walked on by.  But if I did find it, I'd have either turned it in or just left it where I found it.  It could have been counterfeit.

That's over the legal amount that one can keep. A good man.

at the race track?  I wouldn't have touched it... it could get you killed!

I'd have turned it in. If the loser didn't claim it, it might come fairly

to me, without needing to look over my shoulder. It's what I'd want someone else to do if I lost something valuable.

Well sadly most would not I think RP. The problem is one rarely is rewarded for honesty.

I would have handed it in ,but If I had been your Dad I might have had second thoughts and waited to see if anyone claimed that it was missing. I certainly would have asked for a receipt from the Authorities. Of course it is different in reality I probably would have done the same. I bet your Dad's horse did not win either.

Dear Presta sister

Intersting! And that reminds me of my own experience ... Once, in a hotel room I found one diamond earring on the bed ... the cleaner's mistake. I returned it

to the authorities. Many call it my foolery, but Im OK and smile which increases their irritation further
