Kabu

My DIL is a pharmacy tech and when the subject of vaccinations and what they supposedly cause, she just seethes and will tell anyone withing earshot that all these have been debunked. Since I am 70 and drive a school bus (a short one no less) I get my flu shot every year and also today I got a pneumonia shot. I got one last year and still ended up with pneumonia. Some say "well it didn't work very well" but I prefer to think maybe that's why I survived. Hi to Wiley, keep on truckin'.

I remember Bill Maher having the Alzheimers argument with Larry King. It did not make sense to me at all. Flu shots are very necessary.

Unfortunately, even though things are debunked, there are those who still run with those "facts."

Another unfortunate thing is that with nasal flu vaccinnes being ruled ineffective, that gives the anti-vaxers more ammo to work with.

Yes and one must be careful I always try not to get behind someone in the queue at he supermarket who have bought a lot of chicken. Or a supermarket attendant who keeps wiping her nose on a wet tissue. I expect the doctor's waiting room has more bugs than most places. Good thinking with Wiley there are some good drugs out there now very different to 20years ago by a long chalk.

I've have 2 flu shots 20 yeras apart and had walking pneumonia

after the first and lybrinthitis after the second. So when I tell anyone FNP or another Dr. in my Dr. group when they offer a flu shot my history, they refer me to my Dr. My Dr. refers me jokingly back to them. Dr. B said a lot can be said for good handwashing. LOL

It's been 40 years or so since my dear mother-in-law told me

she would never get a flu shot. She believed in a government conspiracy by which they give seniors a shot to get rid of them so they won't have to pay out all the social security. I got mine early this year - I remember how polio epidemics were stopped by inoculations, lots of kids in my school got sick or died from that before Dr. Salk found a vaccine.
