Re: GM

Indeed. You are so right, one wrong move would have been all it took. A lesson to be learned for everyone. As for cosmic justice, I only know what happened at that point in time; that someone called the police thinking they were doing a good thing. Stupid and idiotic, sure! Who knows how the rest of that person's life unfolded? We can't say. Just glad it ended for us how it did. Thank you for reading and commenting, GM!

See Something, Say Something.....

....... that is what the authorities are telling us to do now.  It might be a good idea most of the time,  but your hair-raising story tells us how it can go very wrong!!!

Whoever called the police about you being Patty Hearst was an idiot,  but they suffered no consequence for their stupidity.......  you and your friends did!!!  Where is the cosmic justice in that?  I am glad you kept your cool.  As you say,  one wrong move and you would have been shot full of holes.  But you stayed calm and survived,  to tell us the amazing story!  Cheers

Re: Pat_B

Yes, it was good we did keep our cool. Fortunately, we were too young and too dumb to realize just how serious this was. These days people are profiled and shot/killed for lesser things than that moment I took standing outside the car to just look around at everyone surrounding us! When the surreal happens to one, it takes a while to mentally digest the facts. We had the entire trip back to consider that. To this day, it is still scary. Thank you for reading and commenting.

Wow, that's a scary story. I remember when the Patty Hearst

story was being updated 24-7 - and how upsetting it was.  Glad you and X and Y kept your cool and were able to get on with your journey... Whew!

Re: Re: Re: TAPS

I'm glad you are getting better. Now if you just didn't have that bullet hole right between the eyes... LOL! What an awful ordeal. I take it you didn't go to the doc? Be well, dear lady.

Re: FSI

Wow, you sure did have an experience there. Can't even have a crowbar in your own office! LOL! How scary was that, having the cops barge in!!! Yikes. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Re: BC

Thank you, BC!!! And glad you enjoyed, and glad I finally got to it. Maybe Shelly's video was an impetus.

Patty was a felon at that time, having been caught on video holding an M1 carbine assault rifle during a bank robbery by the SLA, a small terrorist-type group. She suffered from Stockholm Syndrome, which occurs when one forms an alliance with one's captors. I recall you said people thought you were Ariala, but I don't know how that happened exactly since I wasn't here then. Thanks for reading and commenting.

Re: Re: TAPS

I seem to be improving fast now except for the looks.  The worst place right now is one lesion right between the eyebrows, big and round and ugly and it looks the size and shape of a bullethole right between the eyes.  The others are smaller, but no sign yet of disappearing.  LOL

I have never had a case of mistaken identity near that. One time, I did have a cop point a gun at me. I was in the office moving some things around, one thing being a crowbar. Well, some guy passing through thought I was waving a gun around. Next thing I know, the cops barged in - the door was unlocked. Talk about a lot of excitement.

great story!  I'm not sure why they were pointing the gun at you when you were supposed to be the one they were saving?  I've been caught in the crossfire a time or two, but never with a real gun.  I was also accused pretty frequently of being Ariala... if that counts as mistaken identity.

So glad you finally started this blog!   Looking forward to more!  :)

Re: TAPS

Well, it's good you don't have any gun barrel stories, but poor Ribcage. No, they don't apologize at all. Thank you for reading and commenting, and hope you are feeling a bit better. Those are agony. I never had chicken pox so I can't get the shot.

No gun barrel stories for me, though Ribcage has twice been taken for someone else.  Once his dad had to get him out of the jail as his car had already been impounded.  The other time they stopped him in the city, handcuffed him and had him sitting on the curb while they took every single thing out of his well filled trunk.  Then they uncuffed him and left him to put all his stuff back in his trunk himself, no apologies or anything.

Re: Kabu

Ah, Soul Sister, I shoulda known. Yes, do blog it. I'd love to hear it. We can share gun barrel stories. Haha! At least we lived to tell.. Thank the stars above and the goddesses that I was too yound and too dumb to realize just how serious this was! Y wasjust glad he didn't have to pay for a traffic ticket. And X just lit up a ciggie and laughed about how stupid some one was to mistake all of us for them...

Re: C_C_T

No, it didn't look good for her at all. She had participated in bank robbery by that time and had developed Stockholm Syndrome, whereby she formed an alliance with her captors. Thank you for reading and commenting. I don't know about my kids loving the story, but the grandkids did!

Well it didn't look good for the heiress if they were threatening you with guns. I suppose it would have been no used explaining that at the time. I think you should have have worn a nuns gown after that episode. I bet your children loved that story.
