I think of spiders in Australia and all I think of of are those huge bird eating spiders!  UGH!

I am glad to read that Wiley is doing better. Hopefully, the sleepwalking can get under control...I am not too keen on spiders either.

I love your imagination! I am the same way. I think most writers are for that matter....oh what a tale we can weave!

You have the best worst spiders in the world, I think, in Australia!

When I found a black widow in my shower last year, I was a bit freaked, and did some research. Turns out they are not as agressive as people generally think, only biting when being attacked, as by a foot shoved into a shoe. Furthemore, they don't waste venom on a defensive bite: They save it for potential food-gathering. How cool that they have the choice!

I must be a weird woman - I admire spiders, their industrious nature,

the art and design in their webs. In one Native American culture, the spider is the spirit animal of guitar players and violinists (or any stringed instrument). I am very cautious of them though, especially the Black Widow and Brown Recluse, because they're dangerous, but mostly I'm ok if I see them first.

Well a good job it wasn't any thing larger. It seems the weather has turned nasty early.i know that feeling sitting like stone. No one comes when one wishes them too, and come too often when you don't want them. We had frost last night but the dahlias are staggering on. A few anemones  are coming up in the plastic tunnel , but it is time to bed down for the winter. I know you will miss the sun again this year, but at least you can connect with your loved ones and the ratty ones like me.

When I got my first shingle last week, I thought it was a big spider bite.  I kind of freaked out and began searching my bed and the wall for a spider.  Nothing I fear like a spider.  I had a patient once that had six bites of a brown recluse and had to have surgery on every one of them.

Kabu

I'm glad Wiley is doing better. However, the thought of the attack of the red spiders, even one, is certainly unsettling. I had never heard of them either. This house was spider-infested before we moved in. They were living under the wall-to-wall carpeting, seemed like thousands of them. It was removed. The house was fumigated. But still, creeping out of baseboards or on the ceiling, I will see one now and then. The worst is taking a shower with one... LOL! Good luck, and my best to Wiley. I know it's stressful for you, dear, even though you have such fine nursing skills.
