Re: TAPS
When I was a child, my dad brought home a box of books from a used store. In it was one named Nancy Dale Army Nurse. I loved that book and read it many times. Another one was Polly of the Hospital Staff about a little girl that was orphaned in some way and was hospitalized. As she healed she became so loved she was adopted by the Hospital Staff and lived there and was a big help to them with pediatrics. It was a very old book but I loved it. I always thought I would grow up to be a nurse, but it didn't happen until I had raised my sons and they were all gone from home.

Well I think one of our teachers felt guilty not being in uniform because he had bursts of temper, not good if one was under the radar.

The sewing and cooking, mood of the solarium, and physical fitness led to your career in nursing love.

How lovely to have such memories, shaped by the love and respect you received at home, I don't doubt.

I loved my elementary school, as well! I went to a Catholic school. I loved our auditorium the best. That's where the teachers would show movies to the whole school. Thanks for sharing your memories Taps!

Well, good on me, for bringing you to the writing of this one.
I can just see the place, feel how you were so happy there. Thank you for this one, it's --- trying to think of a better word than great to describe how your word picture brings back memories of my own grade school... Nice work!

She reminds me of my Grade 1 teacher, who didn't like me much, and I can't blame her. Mom had taught me to read much earlier, and although she gave me other things to do, I think I was a pain in the neck...

How interesting! Middle school was interesting, but I didn't love it in detail like you did. Having cooked since forever, I was bored in Home Ec, I'm sorry to say. But you are lucky, no boys fell for me at age 10, at least none I knew of. LOL!
