But I won't take pills unless it is just a panadol for I have reflux already and can cope with a fair amount of pain.

Such tough luck, poor Wiley, At least he has you to comfort him. I do hope you can reveal better news soon. Maybe you should get checked for those aches and pains. I should not think it is something that a few pills could not help.

I'm really very sorry to hear Wiley is having these back pains! Now, this may be way off the mark, but a friend of mine last year went to see a chiropractor with some fairly persistent back pain, and it actually helped him a lot...

I, too, am very sorry to hear Wiley is feeling poorly, and having pain. I know it's a strain on you also, dear Kabu, but he is getting the best of care from you, and do I hope he feels better quite soon. You take care, and thanks for the update.

I'm so sorry about all of the health problems and especially the pain. My blog is not even a journal any longer. It seems like mostly it isn't even there anymore. It is so much easier just to click on "Like" on FB than to actually write something interesting.
