We don't know how long any of us have...creature or human...enjoy the time you have ...doctors aren't always right

Yes we always know that we should do what is best for a pet. Sadly we do not want to suffer the loss.  If it was definitely in pain I think putting it to sleep would be more humane, but if it seems to be managing and not too bad, well I would just let things take its course.

My heart goes out to you. Pets really are a part of the family.

Re:

its getting more and more common for dogs to get cancer, I feel like you do

It's so sad and I feel bad for you. Lost two doggies from cancer.  Sometimes even if one could afford the expensive treatments and surgeries, it only gives them a short while so it's not worth it to make them suffer more.

Re:

well it could be begnine but at the same time the doc said she could die from the surgery.  And yes its around 2k to do the surgery.  She is on pain pills now for the pain in her legs.

I am not sure what I would do love. probably just love her close to me every day. It comes down these days some times what one can afford. Vet bills are suddenly exorbitant. Sending you love and hugs. Not a happy time.

Re:

yes they gave me the option but I dont beleive that it is what is interfering with walking I beleive it was arthritis.  She has given me meds for the pain

Even if it's benign, it might be better to have it removed if it's interfering with her ability to walk?   It's a scary proposition to find cancer, but there's no saying that you have to agree to treatment.
