Yes a bit too far to warm the cockles Pat. I don't think the mice will climb up the buckets this time. Don't like putting traps down.

Re: RPresta

Perhaps in time RP. I caught some last year they were biting the stalks of the strawberries but I let them go because they were so cute.

Re: Naut

House mice smell musty. Dormice are becoming rare. I don't know from which species Mickey Mouse was created.

I didn't realize there's a real difference - I just thought house mice are simply lazy field mice, and in winter they would all like to be house mice...

No stars here, just a mist. Interesting poem. And the mousies mean no harm, but they shouldn't be eating the plants.

No stars tonight twinkling or whatever. second 12 hrs of rain blotting out the sky.

Although Neil DeGrasse Tyson insists that stars are actually

distant suns, I still see them as tiny twinkling bites out of the night sky. I've never tried to count them, except for a limited few in certain constellations. Seven or a dozen at a time. Whole 'nother thing when there's a full moon.  I'm happy you're being kind to the field mice.
