Between 15-20 years ago, the Kansas City Bayer Company, where my husband worked for so many years, was already using Robotics in their scientic research.  When I went with him to his special retirement dinner at the special dining room for special occasions, he gave me a tour of what was then well into robotics lab.  You can imagine the progress and changes they have made in the years since. If you are interested, you can see here at this site some of the things that go on there:  https://www.research.bayer.com/en/automated-search-for-active-ingredients-with-robots.aspx

Nautikos

Did Musk not raise the issue of legislation regarding AI, while we can still maintain control? Many things to consider here... Great series, Naut.

My concience is clear. They can watch me all day from wherever and shut down out of boredom. LOL

I admit I was surprised at first by Hawking's warning about AI.

But as time goes on and more speculation becomes activation, I'm beginning to think more favorably about being off the grid. Probably wouldn't help, they'd find me anyway if they wanted to. Did you know they've now got a lawn mower robot that works like the one used for carpet cleaning? Plus they're adding a mapping feature from Google to the new robo cleaners that will put your home's blueprint into a searchable place, just like Google Earth maps your house and street...
