Re:

I know someone had a massive strawberry patch Bill but when they moved they weedkillered the lot. Rather sad I thought.

Re: Re: ReNaut

Never tasted it Naut. Only Scotch, Rum and Gin, but I stick to red wine these days and inside the limit.

Arthur does seem to be a tinkerer...There is a contrast between the external and the internal.

Re: ReNaut

This concoction is my favourite thirst quencher, and hence I wouldn't add vodka. In any case, I prefer my vodka straight, with some pickled herring and cukes...

Re: Pat

Yes I sometimes dilute red wine with tonic water Pat, but I think I like them better separate. My brother used to make Moonshine, used to set fire to it to gauge the strength.I tried it once, but not twice.

Re: Kabu

Yes I think a lot of that Homemade wine still fermented after drinking. Actually it gives me the stomach ache just thinking of drinking a glassful;

ReNaut

Well I shall have to try to drink this concoction first I wonder would it be more homely with a drop of Vodka ?

Re: Taps

Yes short and sweet that's how we meet, no sweet notelets and no regrets.

Re: RPresta

I try to be discreet RP too many roses around.Yes I knew a lady who always drank it diluted at lunch time, she said the dentist thought it kept her teeth free from plague.

She told me once that her husband was in the airforce it was the last mission and he was taken ill so someone else took his place on the bomber, it never returned,so as she said she also thought she was living on time that could have been so different.

This poem is great.  So much packed in just a wee bit of writing.

They say the apple cider vinegar is good for you, though it is a bit acidic for me. I did enjoy your poem, loved the ending and wondered why the primrose.

CCT

For quite some time now a mixture of freshly squeezed lemon juice and apple cider vinegar, diluted with soda water. No sugar, but sometimes I add a bit of red beet juice...

I visited a girld friend in Ludlow often as I could (she died some years ago) and she had made wines and i sampled them all trying to find my favorite. Seemed by morning they had all been my favorite.

Summer is the time to experiment with fruit drinks. I don't know if they

might be improved with a dash of vodka, perhaps a bit of mint. In the American south, mint juleps are the summer drink - either that or sweet tea - and I'm unsure
what goes into a julep, suspect if might be either bourbon or "white lightning" aka moonshine.
