sounds like it was "his house, his rules" which is fairly normal... and considering your stations in life, I think you both got a good deal.  :)

It does look like he got a better deal on the ute...Fortunately, though, things did even out.

You were lucky to have a nice father, . May ask if you paid full wack for the pig food or hire of the sties, or fuel for the truck. I think your Dad was a super man. Well and your Mum but I don't know as much about her.

I imagine that your dad was also working on your character.  LOL.
He did a good job on that, didn't he.

It's a nice little ute - and I think all things considered everything worked out pretty well even-steven. But you got one thing wrong - Holden is now and wqs then a GM company, not affiliated with Chrysler...

He might have gotten the better deal on the ute, but you and your mom going shopping evened it out for you, I hope. For my first car, when I was 16 my dad actually made me 'buy' his car old from him (he had gotten another one). It was a very cheap price but I still had to purchase it. He didn't want to just 'give' it to me, I guess. I had worked while I was 15 to earn some money and used that, so I know how you feel.

It seems when you balance it all out, he did right by you.

I love the look of vintage cars and pickups - which may be the one reason I'd love to visit Cuba - they have all the '50s and '60s American cars so beautifully maintained.
