Funny! I could never do crossword puzzles. I tried suduko for awhile. At present I am addicted to Words With Friends. Maybe it will help keep my brain young.

I'm not in a home yet, Pat B, but after hearing musical pieces a few times I can remember virtually every note, especially if it's the piano (I've never played at all, can't read music but I do sing).  Funny what the brain can do.

What a nice, original poem! Cute dialogue too. Citrus has been found to be good to ward off dementia.

Puzzles may work, but I think music - especially old favorites and

rock n' roll era songs by the original performers - bring back a lot of energy and  memories. Folks in nursing homes who can't remember much seem to remember all the words to their favorite songs.
