Re: Pat
Perhaps that is lodged in a different section of the brain Pat. I don't know if animals get dementia, but I expect they do.

Never heard that one RP. Perhaps we should have more pancakes, I love lemon and sugar on those crispy ones.

Funny! I could never do crossword puzzles. I tried suduko for awhile. At present I am addicted to Words With Friends. Maybe it will help keep my brain young.

Re: Puzzles may work, but I think music - especially old favorites and
I'm not in a home yet, Pat B, but after hearing musical pieces a few times I can remember virtually every note, especially if it's the piano (I've never played at all, can't read music but I do sing). Funny what the brain can do.

What a nice, original poem! Cute dialogue too. Citrus has been found to be good to ward off dementia.

Puzzles may work, but I think music - especially old favorites and
rock n' roll era songs by the original performers - bring back a lot of energy and memories. Folks in nursing homes who can't remember much seem to remember all the words to their favorite songs.
