- Go to Joe Love's Birthday
Joe is missed dearly. I miss reading his different blogs. My personal favorite was his on the happenings of Blogit.

Wow -- what a terrific tribute, CD.
Well do I remember Joe's poignant and hilarious missives - he was a terrific writer and someone I would have liked to have known in the "real" world.
Funny, I had no idea of your connection, that you were Joe's beloved "Monster," until after his passing. On the other hand, I'm extraordinarily slow on the uptake...
It's always tough to lose the good people and even in this limited forum, a blind person could see Joe was one of the best.
Take care.

Re:
I actually became friends with Ariala on Facebook and communicated with her when she first moved to the Ocean. It was very sad.

Yes.....I was the Monster.....
It was a period when we decided to move our business and home to my Father's country house.......Just like Green Acres, we lived in Lexington KY on the Penthouse FLoor of a downtown highrise.
When we moved to the House in the country.....it was Green Acres to the max. Every story he wrote was about our living in the boonies was truthful with a dose of his comedic style.

Corbin - I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't realize your connection (or perhaps I forgot) but I recall Joe very fondly. He was one of the best of blogit and I will likely never forget him...
I'm not sure if you're aware but the reason I came back to Blogit this year is because Ariala passed away. It's only been a few months since her death. We had been best friends since we met here in 2005, but we lived hundreds of miles apart so most was over email, but it was a deep connection. I still miss her presence in my life. I posted a tribute to her when I returned, if you're interested. Sadly, when we both left Blogit, we deleted all of our posts along with all of the humor and fun comments.
thinking of you on Joe's birthday. The pain dulls but I know it never goes away.

I arrived in Blogitsville too late to "know" Joe, but you have written such a nice tribute to him that I am deeply touched.

I think I remember having read Joe Love. He was extremely fun-loving sort. Sorry that it could have been his 53rd birthday. He was for 28 years friend to you, so it must be quite hard on you.

I know this must be difficult for you - I don't think one ever gets over the loss of a loved one. And I remember how much of a shock it was even for me and probably all who knew Joe Love as an insightful and amazingly funny writer. His tales of the Monster's doings are priceless! And I also remember I was proud to get one of his awards! And yes, I too will go back and read some of his posts!
And it occurs to me that it would be fun to see a series of Joe Love posts, something only you could do, of course...
And strange as it may sound - I feel very much like saying,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Joe Love!

Really? His posts are still here?
Ok - I did a search and read a couple, and how can I help but go back and read more? I think I came in too late to read him, so have some catching up to do. Thank you, Corbin!

This is a great memorial post. I was here during the time of Joe Love's posts. In fact I received some of his "awards" that he shared with us. People who are special to us are such a wonderful gift to our lives.
