So good to be back home and reading you, Dear Kabu!

I love dinner and movie nights out. Dunkirk sounds historically interesting; glad you and WileyFriend had a nice date!

Kabu

I am so glad that you and Wiley went to see a movie,  any movie,  and I hope that trend continues,  along with popcorn and soda at the theater,  of course.....

My wife and I saw Dunkirk also,  and it was.....  different from other war movies.  But in a very good way.  It had none of the spectacularism of most war movies.  Instead,  it tried to tell the story of the individual soldiers and civilians,  who did not really know what the hell was going on,  that caused them to be in their deadly perilous situations.  My favorite character was the Spitfire pilot,  who saved so many lives by shooting down German fighters and bombers,  running out of fuel and landing on the beach, to be captured by the Germans.  The sequel should tell us of his fate.  I wonder how much of the movie was based upon real people.  Cheers

Kabu

So nice to hear of an outing for you two. It sounds so pleasant. 'Dunkirk' was Number One in the box office charts here. Glad you and Wiley were able to get out and about.

I remember the soldiers were dumped on our green . Sadly some were sacrificed to the benefit of others. Yes it would be nice to see a few more come back, it is like Dunkirk.

Dinner and a movie with someone you love: that's a wonderful thing.

I've heard that some veterans watching Dunkirk were overcome by memories, I am thinking it might have been filmed on location. I don't like war movies as a rule, and probably won't go to see that one, but they can't put on nothing but comedies I guess.
