Yes I would just keep a low wattage light glowing, of course in the old days I would have sold you a gussunder, or a jerry,or even a china throne. Life does not get easier. Just mind no one trips over MR G.

That was a lot of excitement in the wee hours of the morning. I like the idea of getting a nightlight.

Not good! The others have already made excellent suggestions, and I fully concur...

I'm sure that he appreciates the assistance you give him.  Love can make just about anything right for a bit, and then you start back all over again.

Oh, dear, sweet S. Sister - how worrisome for you and for Wiley. I do hope tonight is better. Yes, mayhem is the right word. So sorry to hear it.

get some night lights you can plug in on his side of the bed so he can see where he is going

I don't know if they have them at home depot stores near you, but

there is a brand of switchplates designed to fit over plug-ins that have LED lights built in. They are light-sensitive and turn off during the day, but light the pathway at night, and are simple to install with just a screwdriver. Night lights to guide the bathroom seeker... Or, there are plug-in night lights that turn off during the day, A couple dollars may save you stubbing a toe or tripping over something in the dark, and they're not bright enough to disturb your sleep.  Just a hint in case you get bored with the family circus at 3:00 a.m.
