Re: Re: Re: Re: Aba Brother

Little by little, I'm keeping my finger crossed. This has been a bad episode, and I want to do things so I try. Thank you.

Re: Re: Re: Aba Brother

Thank you sis for the observation and for all the trouble you take to sit at the compy, but do also give a considered care to your back; hope you are somewhat better

Re: Re: Aba Brother

Yes, I did understand that from the posts and exchanges, Aba, dear brother. But my thought was that so many of the ways of which I have read in this series to approach clarity of thought, presented here by your translations and explanations of teachings regarding the Gita, run parallel to the way in which I was brought up to think and to interpret different life aspects, are most surprising. Most interesting, indeed. Thank you. It gives me cause for further thought. But I have done too much activity and  compy time this day and must stop because my back and hip are really hurting. Rrrhh!

Re: Aba Brother

The major attraction of the Gita is without insisting on any commandments it teaches us simple ways to tackle problems which humans have to face In everyday life. We, on the other hand, fail to see the solutions which appear too complex for us, being deluded. Delusions removed, we can see with clarity without the projections of our minds. And in that lies its universality, as you so correctly say. Thank you dear big sister. -

Re: C C T

You are so correct, C C T. There is an urgency in the western world that there is only one life, so grab as much as you can. The indians, on the other hand, have become lackadaisical because they are convinced of the next life coming. As a result they have no hurry and became lazy and inactive. The wheel thus grinds slowly.

Re: Kabu

It could be taken to mean the way you like - Arjuna is being told that he cannot be a runaway warrior neglecting his calling and become like intellectuals, Brahmanas, to seek his liberation. That is not his path, so also for the Brahmins the path of a warrior is unsuited.

Aba Brother

I read this in a state of illumination and begin to grasp the rudimentary concepts. Oddly, it is much like the philosophies presented to me from childhood. There is a universal oneness, perhaps, presented here. Wow, very good; outstanding, and thank you, Aba dear brother.

Sadly I think at least in my experience, possessions for better or worse motivates most in the West. Probably too many wars and the need for entertainment. We now can have babies named without a religious ceremony. The wheel grinds slowly.

so we should live our lives with both activity and passive releasing of energy and developing our relationship with our God. A balance in all that we do with our lives. well that makes sense to me.
