I doubt you'd have enjoyed going along on this one, preferring flatlands to mountains! There were other considerations in this case that made it sensible to not stay overnight, for one thing, it was only 2 in the afternoon.

As a veteran of many long distance drives--cross-country, alone, half a dozen times, for instance--I usually have taken several days of driving to get this exhausted! But it has been a while, and aging takes a toll.

These roads would quickly weed out the texters, the easily distracted, and most geology professors. The most worrisome are the ones riding the yellow line around blind corners.

It's such beautiful country - if you could find a relatively untravelled
road without a lot of impatient texters tailgaiting you, it would be spectacular....
