I had no idea this was going on... I had thought of applying for a dual citizenship for Italy (I read that if you have a grandparent born there, it's approved).  Thought it might make for easier travel someday (not as if I travel there often) and if I ever wanted to escape (half joking)... but sounds like a mess is escalating now.  So sad.

Also, I missed your post on Sweden... I find this more surprising as it's such a homogeneous land and always in the top of the "happiest" places to live, along with the other Nordic countries.  I also always think of a refugee as a displaced person... someone who has been forced out of their country, with no means to survive on their own and usually walking across the closest border, fleeing their home with only the clothes on their back... but obviously this isn't the case if they have the means to get all the way to Sweden??!   Wouldn't this simply make them travelers or people who are choosing to relocate?

If I ever saw an impossible situation, this seems to be it.

It is a huge migrant mess brought on by ourselves. I do not see a speedy resolution occurring any time soon.
