Very interesting, both the subject that I really know no more about than all the conventional stuff, and the audio book angle. I have never lisyened to an audio book and wonder if I would like it. When  reading, I tend to read very quickly much of the time, but sometimes I also like to slow down and 'savor' the language. And sometimes I like to go back over stuff, all that depending on a lot of things...I think listening to an audioa book might make me impatient...

Audio books. My friend in my directing class narrates shildren's stories. Could they work on a personal level to reach out? The one you listened to's an interesting topic love.

Good that you found a way of becoming interested in recent History, things a soon forgotten or disbelieved.

I remember learning about Apartheid South Africa during a college course I took, The Cold War in Southern Africa. It was very difficult in getting it to end.

I was up late one night and heard Trevor Noah talk about his book

and his life story. It occurred to me at the time that our country's history is all too equivalent. He has survived and succeeded as have a number of others, but the vast majority of those born in poverty and social deprivation never get out of that niche. My favorite plotline is triumph over adversity...

Re: RPresta

It was just a thought.  I know I won't do that.

Very interesting. I like to read a real paper book also. You own story is a great idea!

It seems unreal to me that all these recent events to me, are actually history now and will fade away probably. Sydney has a huge population of South African Jewish people and they have so much wealth. I mean wealth like the Trumps every one of them...they were very welcome to Sydney. LOL. They really believed that the end of apartheid would be their own death sentences and fled South Africa. I never read that book maybe I should hunt it down.

Sounds like an interesting story.  I love to read but I like hardcovers, and paperbacks.  I've tried ebooks.  Nope, can not do those.  I'm not sure about audio books.  I guess I can give it try.
