It sounds nice to be out there. It is hard on the back though. Glad you found the net/hat! But you still got bit? That's awful!

Communing with nature is the best for health & happiness, especially if one is well covered from the sun's rays and the insects.

Well, I'm so glad you found that net! I thought you might be worried about having to take up a mortgage on the house to buy another one, but I guess a bank loan would have been enough...And we don't have any mozzies down here - only the muzzies are proliferating...

Black flies are starting here - and I would rather mossies! Ok if sitting up top on the gallery, and that is where Miko plays, but walking down in the yard and lane is not agreeable at all right now. My spring perfume 'Off' is a regular at this time of the year.

Re:

well I do like frogs but at a distance although I love the little green ones we see sometimes. There are thousands of frogs and toads crickets too and the night can be very magic with all their songs and then the fire flies signal for a mate and just occasionally we get a wisp of the Aorora. Used to see the Southern one for weeks at night on the farm when I was a kid and pollution was something that London coped with.

Well, great. mosquito netting in a hat. Who'd a thunk?

Well, outside of safari treks, etc., - but I'm glad you found a way to avoid becoming food for the greedy buggers.

You do not mention frogs, do frogs live in the cold area that you survive in. I only ask because I have three or four  low tubs with tadpoles which I hope will grow into you know what. I have already seen young frogs in the tunnels . I want to talk frogs are you a frog`person? I have my doubts as you like snakes.
