I suppose the insects will just migrate to areas without the wind turbines? and the birds will follow? Survival of the fittest? ;)
I have a hard time believing that we'll be able to kill off the insects that easily. They'll be last to go...

The trouble is we learn slowly as most things move quickly. Remember when the Chinese paid a bounty on sparrows only to be plagued with greenfly. Of course the machines are more of a problem in a small country, same as fracking, bit different if it reaches under ones house. Well you had a good trip Naut. Nice to come home wasn't it?

In Maryland, we are going to be putting them far out in the Atlatic Ocean, so I suppose that will stop with the insect killing. However, not every place is going to have the luxury of the ocean. I am not sure, for instance, what Kansas would do.

'As the present now will later be past, for the times they are a-changin' Bob Dylan had it right way back then.

Wow, some things never change. I remember being 3 and on a long train ride and we were served meals at tables with white tablecloths. They use a lot of wind power here but I didn't realize that about the environment. It's like the water-saving dishwasher or washing machine that takes 2 or 3 hours to wash a cycle. So much electricity to save a bit of water. And then there is the cultural aspect of Europe...

Very thought provoking!
I'm one of those who wants to see more alternative energy and to halt the burning of fossil fuels > global warming... But I'd never thought about the windmills taking out the insect populations. Like the old song says, 'little things mean a lot.' I'm going back and read this again...

So I take it you don't like renewable energy. But I can tell you one renewable energy that will work...and that is wave energy. and it won't kill insects, oo harm the fish.
