Thank you for telling us about that great sentencing in India.  That is a huge victory for justice,  indeed.  But what a shame that when the actual crime occurred,  no one came to the victim's aid,  no one challenged the monsters who were raping the woman and beating the man.  Surely,  there were many bystanders,  who did nothing,  but I am not familiar with the details of the case.

Thanks for your reading,  your comment,  and your agreement.  I hope you and Wiley have a gun in the house,  and know how to use it.  But I fear that you do not.  Most likely,  you will never need a gun,  and I pray that you never do.  But sometimes,  in this violent world,  a gun is the only thing that will save you and your loved ones.....  except for God,  and I trust that God is protecting you,  to the best of His ability.

Yes,  it is unthinkable to me as well,  that we cannot defend our own home against attackers.  But,  about 10 years ago,  here on Blogit,  I had a lengthy argument with a British blogger named Damon,  who said that he would give anything to robbers,  if they attacked his home,  because possessions are not really important.  I then asked him if he would give them his wife,  or himself,  if they wanted to take her or him sexually,  and he finally said no,  he would not,  he would fight them.  But it took a great deal of argument to reach that point.  And I fear that,  in a real fight,  Damon would be down or dead,  before he finally decided to put up a fight.  Damon,  the British pacifist,  with no experience of fighting or combat or violence or hunting or shooting,  had no idea of the savage ferocity that he would face,  with any attackers of his home.

Damon in England was a small reflection of the world-wide liberal pacifist movement,  making great gains all over the world,  and especially in America.  In the past 30 years,  the liberal pacifists have gotten much worse in the US.  In some states,  you are required by law to RETREAT from any attacker in your home,  to LEAVE your home if necessary,  give it to the attackers,  and wait for the police to arrive,  IF you had a phone and were able to call them!!!  Otherwise,  you are at the evil predator's mercy,  and of course,  they have no mercy at all,  because.......  they are predators.

I must say, what is left to do if one cannot defend oneself in one's own home? It's unthinkable to me...

Just as the Son and the Sheriff were courageous enough to stand for justice, so it has happened in India, the four accused in the Nirbhaya's brutal mass rape case in a public transport bus at night, and then mercilessly done to death in 2012, the Supreme Court held up the decision of the lower and high courts that they be awarded death sentence.  Of the two other, one committed suicide earlier, and the other, inexplicably, was acquitted on the grounds of his being a minor. Minors when the rape, can these be called adolescent crimes. This judgment has brought cheer and relief on the faces of all, throughout the world. A historic judgment indeed, from Indian point of view where the criminals often go scot-free.
