How sad, but what a great last thing to hear because it can carry one a lifetime! sam

What everyone else has said here...

This is a wonderful piece of writing! It leaves me wanting to know more of the story, more about your father, your family, and all!

Re: -blackcat

I would love to hear your story!  And no matter how much time passes, the day when it all changed, dawns with its memories.

Re: RPresta

There is no timeline on missing our parents is there, RPresta?  We remember them as the people there were to us.  Thank you!

wow... beautiful.   I wish I had a recording of my dad's voice.  I have a very similar story to you, he was a few years younger, I was a couple older, but still the same.  My last words to him were happy birthday and goodnight.  The next morning, my world came undone.  The years go by, but we still remember...

OMG, this brought tears to my eyes! What a touching post! I still miss my dad (and mom, also). I'm sorry you lost your dad so early in life. He did indeed leave you a wonderful gift, and he sounds like a wonderful father. How nice to grow up with him singing.
