Here is a link to the next book I might read  http://manwhowalked.com/

"The Man Who Walked With Jesus"...... It was written by Dr. Terry Friedman,  who recently passed away,  who had visions or communications that he was the apostle Matthew.  If true,  talk about being 'close to the source' !!!  If not true,  should still be a fascinating story.

Also interesting that some of the "earliest Christianity,  where the good stuff is" included a belief in reincarnation,  before those Christians were declared as heretics and persecuted.  In her book,  "Reincarnation: The Missing LInk in Christianity",  EC Prophet does a good job of researching the subject.  Personally,  at the moment,  I think that reincarnation is a reality,  but like everything else,  it is being used as a tool for both good and evil,  in the spiritual levels above us.  Cheers

Re: Ciel

How interesting that you had a personal encounter with EC Prophet.  And that you had a sense of snakes in her intonations.  I saw those intonations on TV back in the 90's when her show was presented on PBS.....  I thought they were just silly and unnecessarly,  but then I think much of religious ritual  (Catholic for example) is also silly and unnecessary.

There is nothing inherently bad about snakes..... they are suffering from a bad rap from the Garden of Eden.....  LOL    Remember that the symbol for the medical profession is two snakes wrapped around a pole,  and that is also a symbol for the DNA molecule.  But then you also have the whole New Age "reptilian" lore,  as Joanofrance is telling us about in her blog.

It is a case of information overload,  and no way to properly evaulate it.......  but I do greatly respect those who have the additional tool of psychic ability,  like you.

Re: Re: Kabu,

exactly, our greedy little minds think of money and Politics. Power and glory in the here and now and over other humans. And if that is one's insight then how can they be filled with peace and love., for others as well as themselves.

I enjoyed your post and I enjoyed the musical concept of a play about Christ. It was perfect for the time, imho, and the music is still catchy. The message is simple, love one another.

Re: FormerStudentIntern.

I applaud anything that yanks Christians back to the earliest Christianity, where the good stuff is.

Re: Kabu,

One of my favorite bits aside from the catchy tunes is when Jesus tells them they don't have a clue what "power" and "glory" are.

Re: GoldenMean,

"My Father loves me because I put my life down and pick it up again of my own will."  Can't quote you chapter and verse on that, but it is always fun looking for things--you can find so much interesting other stuff!

At a psychic fair years ago, my booth was back to back with EC Prophet, and when she intoned her invocations, I heard snakes in it. Not in the words, but in the energy. I regard her with wariness. But she isn't wrong about censorship of various translators and interpretors.

Oh, and I didn't say "just another interpretation."

I saw the play long ago,  and I liked it for the same reasons Kabu liked it.  The music was very well-done and catchy.....  some of it was stuck in my head for days or weeks.  But it was,  as Ciel says, just another interpretation of Jesus and his teachings and times, although a refreshing one.  I am currenly reading a book by Elizabeth Clare Prophet,  who argues that Jesus taught reincarnation,  but that it was almost all purged from the writings that survived and became the Bible.  I fear that the Bible is a very heavily edited and censored book,  but it still holds great universal wisdom.

I loved the musical for the music. I loved the musical for the way it rocked the stuffy old Churches with their rules and regulations that had nothing to do with the reality that Jesus came to bring a new commandment that we love each other as we love ourselves. He refused to be political he just spoke of love and acceptance...oh and women were as equal for him as men. I believe in a man called Jesus who was here on earth and who had no more time for the structure and BS of Synagogues (churches) than what I have.

I do feel that Jesus Christ Superstar does a great job at getting to the essence of Jesus and His time here on earth. I remember seeing it performed in Baltimore back in 1996. Very excellent.
