Re: Pat

Well folk look over the wall and admire them so I'll just leave them. Glad that you liked the poem,

Re: Taps

Thanks Taps I can't remember if I have heard it, but even so I can imagine how it goes.

Re: Re: Re: Kabu

Yes I hope so Kabu, it does seem a long winter for you somehow. I don't really know how I would feel without the greenhouses to hasten things along. Garden centre plants are all on display but it is too much of a ganble to plant tender stuff.

Short tulips - not a bad deal if they're bright.

The poem is an absolute delight - a rip-roaring hoot!

I loved the poem.  We don't have fox hunts here, but your poem reminded me of my favorite movie fox hunt, and the music that goes with it, in the movie of Tolstoy's War and Peace..

Re: Re: Kabu

We are still getting frosts but the dogwood tree I planted a few years ago has changed its branch color to red so I think it is telling me it is getting ready.

Re: RPresta

Thank you RP. I like irises but I try to lean towards non toxic plants for cut flowers, It is a job though because most leaves of plants or stems use something to deter pests, not always valid as there are always something that will be immune. If you have sensitive skin it is always wise to wear gloves when gardening. Not me I can pull stinging nettles up bare handed if they are not too old. Well there is a stinging nettle eating contest held somewhere.

Re: Kabu

Well things are early this year Kabu , I mean bedding plants on display not even April.

We used to get killer frost in May. remember the old saying.( If May comes early or May comes late it will always make the old cow quake.) I go by the two large walnut trees

a bit higher up when the leaves shoot it is 99% sure no more frost this year.

Computers can be quite a hassle with so many different things that can and do go wrong...I did not expect that ending to your poem.

I love tulips but don't have any this year. Some irises are going to bloom. It's a right rowdy poem there, and quite fun to read. I like the reference to Nell.

Matilda is quite the gal! I loved the poem! It flowed beautifully with a hint of musicality to it as well for me! My tulips are coming up and soon they will be in bloom! Getting excited for that, too! sam

your sisters mouse probably needs a new battery. and that is all the help that I can give. I put more ruilps in before the winter just after the grown froze so the squirrels wouldn't eat them. Will be awhile before we see anything coming up.

ChiffChaff

Your sister's computer battery for the mouse is worn out. Small rectangular battery plugged into one of the ports probably in the back of the computer Bro.
