You have described the sadness very well.

I am so sorry for your pain. It was so recent and must be raw, and you wrote a beautiful post about your mom. She taught you love, and gave you strength, and would want only happiness for you, I'm sure. Your post so reminded me of my own mom's passing, years ago. Mom's may pass on, but they never leave us, be it only in memory. Again, yours is beautiful tribute to your mom here, and makes me want to write of my own mom also. You were lucky to have her as long as you did, though it wasn't long enough. It never is. That's the hardest lesson we all ever learn. No time alloted is ever enough for those we love to be with us. Now, as I said, in the pain will ease, but you can honor her the most by being all she would have wanted for you, and that includes being happy, I believe. Hugs.

We definitely do not get through this life without losing someone we dearly loved.  It seems like I have lost so many that I still miss so much after all these years.  But the blessing is that we keep the wonderful memories.

I think she was looking down along with your dad and sis watching the family gather to celebrate the holiday and honor her life

She must have been a special person to keep all that love together and the apple didn't fall far from the tree dear friend. You too are very special. Age doesn't count when it comes to losing those we love and I still miss my parents over 20 yrs gone.it is OK but one thinks of all the good, all the unconditional love.
