You'll have to ask Kabu - I didn't make them, but sure ate them!

Re: RPresta

Oooohhh...chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting...sounds like amazingness!  We had Jackson's Bakery and Mammy's Bakery here in Ontario!  I agree..better than the ice cream man and I love ice cream!

Re: -blackcat

There were two bakery trucks where I grew up in Ontario and omg I can still smell and taste some of those goodies!  I love the idea of pie, the look of pie and even the word, 'pie', but just can't get into it.  I'm pathetic.

Helm's Bakery Truck, I think that was one of the ones who came around. Better than the ice cream man. And there was something called the Jewel Tea truck, but I was really little for that one. We all bake in this family, waay too much. I just finished eating some chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. I'll pay for that, but it was good. :)

What a time to live in, where the bakery drove around and brought you dessert?  Amazing.  Can I go there, please?

I'm not sure my favorite cake.  Maybe cheesecake.  As a kid, I loved strawberry shortcake.  But today, when people ask, cake or pie, I'd always choose pie.

Not much of a cake eater.  I did have a piece of sauerkraut cake once that was really good.  A friend baked it.

My mom didn't bake much.  She was too busy working, going to school, and taking care of three kids by herself.  Both of my grandmothers were the bakers in the family.  One Polish, the other Italian.  My Polish grandma lived further away, so she would always send us sweets.  I remember one Easter she sent us a coconut cake in the shape of a sheep.  If it weren't for my grandmother's, my brother's and I would have been without homemade desserts.   I'm not really a cake person anymore, but every now and then, I love an ice cream cake.

Gatu but I don't know how to spell it. It is spelt as gateau. Or probably spelled in USA.
