A delightful poem to be enjoyed with the nymphs and occasional bites of trout.

Re: Kabu

No good asking you if you could cook a trout then. We always tease my sister when Arthur was a boy she said she would give him sixpence for two crayfish. She hates to be reminded that she cooked and ate them.

Re: Annicita

I am afraid a lot of folk would go like that if they saw the beginning of a meal.

Re: ChiffChaff

I guess that was the done thing Bro. I should not think many could make a job of it these days.

Re: SAM

Well I like fish and chips Sam. As I told RP.  My brother catches them and puts them back in the lake. He really only wants to catch an exhibition one.

Re: C_C_T

I guess there is a knack in removing the bones RP. My brother goes trout fishing but I never like looking at them in the freezer. He now uses a barbless hook and puts them back in the lake . Thank you.

I suppose we were friendly for a while but she had sorrow.

I myself have never cooked a fish. I have eaten plenty over the years. Rockfish (striped bass) is my favorite...You did a great job bringing her to life for the reader.

In his very senior years my dad would cook trout in the microwave! Amazing how he could remove all the bones so easily, even though he was 95% bliind! Delightful poem.

In all my years I don't think that I have cooked a trout.  I cooked a salmon that I caught myself in the Northern Pacific.  Does that count for anything?

I only went fishing once when I was very little. My uncle took us fishing and we used string tied to a twig with a hook...I caught a fish! My uncle cut it open and gutted and we had to clean all the scales off...yuck!

well I can't cook fish, never have, it was always the men who caught cleaned and cooked the fish but your nymphs and Unicorns make delightful poetry. smiling nicely...
