I am more of a tea girl.  Hope you are feeling better.

Re: Nautikos

My son-in-law roasts and grinds his own (from all over the world) and he has always shared bags of his favorites with me.  I'm going to miss that.

Re: FSI

LOL.  I gave up Oreos quite a while back because of diabetes, but you are making me drool.  I remember them with fondness.  My sister used to even bring me the kind that are frosted on the outside too.

Re: Re: TAPS

I imagine so. I do like my morning coffee, and would not like to see it go away. Be well.

TAPS

I'm glad you find the loss of coffee easy to bear. I would find it difficult to give up my mid-morning coffee, made in a stove-top espresso maker from freshly-ground beans ! Part of it is the ritual itself, as you can probably guess, LOL, though it doesn't quite match the Japanese tea ceremomy...

I myself am not a coffee drinker, but I can say that it would be very tough on me were I to have to give up Oreo cookies.

Reading about smoking reminds me how much things change. Other than my grandfather's ashtray that my father keeps for decoration, I have not seen one in a long time.

Re: I think coffee is a social lubricant - as you wrote about it on the buffet

"Social lubricant" is the right name for it.  LOL

Re: CCT

Our tap water is good tasty water and if any thing threatens it temporarily we are always told in time.  I don't remember when that happened.

Well sadly I like tea better although everyone seems to be walking around drinking  coffee instead of smoking a good thing I suppose. Arthur drinks decaffeinated coffee, I prefer it straight . Stick to the doc's orders though, your water probably tastes better than ours.

Love the smell!

I have been trying for years to drink coffee...stopped drinking it forty years ago when I had my first babe.  Lately I'm able to drink white chocolate mocha so feel I'm getting closer.  I love everything about coffee!  (Except the taste!)  Good to 'see' ya, Taps!

I think coffee is a social lubricant - as you wrote about it on the buffet

for family gatherings. People meet for first dates at coffee shops, which are a bit more comfy for me than bars for a get-together or a session of people-watching.

I remember those old percolators that let you know they were brewing and silence meant it was ready.  my doctor told me when i was 14 to stay away from colas and coffee

Re: TAPS

Probably one of these days I will feel like I just have to have a cuppa black joe.

Sounds like you are doing very well without it, but it will take getting used to. Coffee was a staple round-the-clock at some relatives' homes. Mostly at our house it was a morning thing. My mom used the percolator on the stove and her coffee was magical.

I had a couple of cups of coffee today with a cup of soup for lunch, and felt way over-full afterwards. I blame the milk in the coffee, though. I don't do cow's milk dairy anymore, unless there is no available alternative--almond milk, for choice.
