Sam, your son is not who I am referring to when I use the words mindless miilitarism - I am speaking to the elected leaders, the policy makers, Commander-in-Chiefs aka the ones who get us into these endless wars. No offense meant toward your son or any honorably serving soldier.

My son served in Afghanistan! It was the longest year of my life and he's not the same person today! I feel sorry for the innocent lives that are lost but I am offended at mindless militarism. He said he went to save lives not take lives! Not trying to start anything here just had to share my son's point of view, after all he did put his life on the line! sam

Darling, it is the pattern of history. 25 years of peace is a long time in the cycle of wars and peace. Most of us would love eternal Peace on earth but even in times of peace people have to destroy something...animals are shot, the earth is scorched. I am staying in my Woods.

the innocent suffer the most. they have no say but are caught in the middle.
