Could you mail the baby things ahead of your arrival? My nephew used to do that from overseas before he arrived back in the US. The entire process is anxiety-producing, IMHO.

I usually go to Michigan to see my granddaughter so I know what I want to take for the most part! I like to be prepared so I start with a list and then have everything packed at least two day before I go! sam

Documents got ready when I book the flight and bags are ready from trip to trip. My "book in" luggage is pulled on wheels and is overhead luggage size. A quality bag that is easily identified...maybe because it is so small.

Hand luggage has spare undies and medications, make up, and duty free buys. A book and half pillow, maybe something breakable, it goes at my feet usually.

Half that I take I dispensed with into garbage bins as I go and I buy new to wear and to come back with if I see something.
