Re:

Hi Annicita.  My sister has to have more scans.  My mother doesn't want any surgery, she says she's had enough of hospitals, and has signed a DNR... so we're looking more at the extent of the care she needs.  My lodger is not a nice person so she can just get lost. I'm over it.

Re:

Hi CCT... all I wanted was for her to pay for the gas she uses .. last winter for the same quarter I paid out over £400, about £135 a month.  So asking for £150 for the best part of two months is a bargain for them but she's one of those people (so was my ex) who just HAS TO win the day, no matter how small the prize.  She's hassling me like you wouldn't believe, and has no insight into how unreasonable she is being.

You have lots to do ...get that lawyer onto her or at least email back that you are seeing a lawyer. whether you are or not it may just chase them out.

The swelling sounds like water retention which could be caused by several things.  I know my mom was put on furosemide 40mg per day until most of it was gone then down to 20mg a day.

My mom had a defibrillator put in instead of a pacemaker.  The only difference between the two is the leads are bigger going to the heart.  Once she had that done she was much better.  The only problem is getting her to continue to exercise which she won't so she doesn't build her strength back up.

I hope ArchAngel Raphael is there to help.

I say giving her the boot is short of what she needs but it will suffice!

Well meme a paid care home like Bupa costs 1k a week I know because several friends have people in there. If your mum owns her house you would probably be expected to contribute, if not I expect the NS. would place her, but do not be afraid to suss the place out, there is a big difference in quality. As to your lodger I don't know honestly why you are worried about getting that extra payment, more beneficial to finish without it and get the house back. I would however get the boiler checked hopefully you have a CO2 detector if it is a gas boiler. Just a note carers around here charge at least £20 per hour.

It is all very sad old folk save and very often deprive themselves and this is how it usually ends up. '
