I totally agree with your parting comments! I will say and do what I please this time of the year! MERRY CHRISTMAS to EVERYONE no matter their faith! They are served during this period with sales at the stores and on line and on and on! sam

Nautikos

Wow! This is going to send me into a tailspin of non-stop verbosity! Christmas is a legal holiday in USA and Canada, among other countries, yet is not to be recognized at a secular level? Has anyone considered that this university directive might offend others? I undertand this must be about security. University says no Santa images, among other rules? Hah! One would think by the time one reaches the administrative level of a university, one would know that Santa - watch out kids - isn't real, regardless of religious preference or non-preference! (I'm not going into the St. Nick legend here. LOL!) No Micky Mouse, Peter Pan, Tooth Fairy...okay! I must stop myself. In this area the children cannot celebrate Halloween, even in the primary grades at school, by dressing up in costume. However, on Halloween, they are allowed a theme day such as a "Pirate Day," where all may dress in costume on that theme. In the middle school, there was to be a Christmas Dance, but the principal cancelled it, and now they will be having a plain old dance, and that's in January. Well, Kohl's Dept. Store has employees that say 'Merry Christmas,' at least that was so the last time I was in there. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

I just post the Christmas cards and try to avoid the smiling faces that greet one.

Any way it is no longer a religious festival. I don't think the over ecessive eating proves anything. There is going to be a lot of unhappiness everywhere. Although to those who enjoy, I wish the season's greetings.

I always say Merry Christmas and no one is going to stop me. I shall take one of Wiley's cane with me if they do object...and i don't mean candy cane. If we don't expect people to accept what we believe we will never accept their beliefs and never come together.

It is amazing just how much political correctness has run amok.

No Guilt! I say Merry Christmas to the checkout clerks whose

boss doesn't want them to offend non-believers of any stripe who don't celebrate the birthday of the Christ child. I'm a hopeful agnostic, pretty much convinced that there's more to the fabric of the universe than coincidence and the laws of physics. I also have a good deal of respect for persons of faith who live their particular "rulebook" with good will and humor.
