It does seem the real trouble is the two sections of communities are pretty level in needs and hopes. It is the same here a lot won't accept that the vote for Brexit means what a small majority voted for. One lot are satisfied and the other slightly larger lot disagree.

I'm disappointed on the one hand - but who knows how much discord

and misery would have followed had it gone the other way. The obstructionists who gave Mr. Obama such a hard row to hoe would have doubled down on Mrs. Clinton. She may have just escaped a time of brutality that would have made the campaign seem like a picnic.

Re: Naut

I let you say it.  But, I think you are wrong in your last sentence.  I think they would have been saying that, and worse.  People these days are filled with hate and have forgotten how to show love and acceptance graciously.

As an interested outsider, let me say this: I wasn't impressed with either candidate, Donald because of his often boorish behaviour, Hillary for more complicated reasons that are now irrelevant. But the people have spoken, and elected the man I too would have voted for were I an American, holding my nose in the process, LOL.

I thought his acceptance speech was good, and his meetings with Obama apparently went well also.

I have the impression that many people have bought into the caricature of the man the liberal fascists of the media, particularly Clinton's News Network, have drawn of the man and sold it to those of the public only too eager to accept it. He is neither a misogynist, (in spite of his locker room talk), nor a racist, nor a reincarnation of Hitler. People who seriously believe all that are fools.

He is a man who wants the national borders to mean something, to be secure, and to control immigration the way it used to be, rather than permit completely porous borders and illegal immigration.

And his concern about Muslim immigration is fully justified! When it comes to that issue, I really know what I am talking about, as I'm sure you're aware of.

And of course the US foreign policy badly neeeds an overhaul! But domestic stuff, for example Obamacare? I know nothing about it and hence have nothing to say!

But I am totally appalled at those in the media who are spewing venom because their candidate lost. And I don't think you would have seen crowds of people with signs saying 'Clinton is not my president' had she won...

I find it really sad how Politics can split families so completely, and gloating when you win was never a decent way to behave. I am sad for people so ignorant. I personally am proud of an America that voted two terms for President Obama. One of the most wonderful 1st families that it has been a delight for me to watch.
