I love the sound of the church bells ringing. How sad that intolerance has seeped into every fabric of society. I pray that bells toll in every hearts and minds.

Years ago I lived for a long time right across the street from a church bell.  I only thought it was loud for about the first three days.  After that it was incorporated into my daily life and I loved it.

It's a great poem you've written. I wish a compromise could be reached. That would be the best of both worlds. Beautiful picture.

Love your poem and your words. Since I was a child always loved hearing the sound of bells in churches. Very sad to hear that.

If he thinks those are loud he should go to egypt where they triangulate the mosques so you hear 3 calls to prayers either silmultaneously or like a round which is all amplified by speakers!

I am sure a compromise could have been reached. I wonder if modern houses allow more noise to penetrate. Or older folk use deaf aids, various little things that come to mind. Although I always love to hear them ring it reminds me of D,DAY.

It seems like there is a lawsuit for everything these days.

Lovely picture and poem..

There are people living close to churches with bells who find them to be disturbing of sleep. A church nearby was asked to cut back on how often they rang their bells because working folks living close to the church were being awakened at regular intervals and were at their wit's end.

Also families with infants and young children said the bells woke their young ones and sleep is important for growing kiddos, not to mention the exhaustion of the parents. That said, I think it's sad that a lawsuit was instigated, seems a compromise could have been reached.

beautiful words and bells ringing are a sound of Joy harmony and a call to pray. Goodness the Muslims get called to prayer why shouldn't Christians have their church bells.
