Re: Justi

When I was a child in the late 60s, my neighbor said during the Newark Riots that were, happening nearby that the looter, rioter, or intruder would have to be dragged into the house. It would make it legal to shoot them. However, there's no self-defense in New Jersey. An inmate, serving a five year sentence for manslaughter of her boyfriend that tried to murder her told us on a class trip for a sociology class of deviant behavior. I don't remember if the girl in Philadelphia came with me. As I've wondered, but it sounds good to shoot the armed intruder in the arm and immediately call the p;olice, holding the gun on him love.

Re: TAPS

This sounds as if it's Christian idealism love. And may God bless you.

Think I mentioned this before. Long ago I was sunbathing off the bedroom deck and was alone. Heard someone (a huge oaf of a unit manager) coming up the stairs. I screamed, yelled, swore, and chased him down the stairs until he left. Then I collapsed, shaking. That was then...

My house is a little more than 1,000 square feet, with nowhere to really hide, so I would have to fight.

I would grab a phone, gun and ease out toward the sound. I would order him to drop his gun. If he did not and had not shot me I would shoot for the arm holding the gun. Assuming I am still a good shot I would call the police and hold the gun on the man until the police arrived. This would be ideal for me. I probably would hide behind the bed with the gun and telephone hoping he would go away. All the while I would be praying.

Twenty-plus years ago someone broke into my house two different times while no one was home.  If I were home and discovered an intruder, I'd probably ask them if they were hungry and if I could fix them a nice omlet with sausage and toasty English muffins.  We would have a nice visit and then I would try very hard to try to give him/her things I have wanted to get rid of for a long time.
