I sit in my artificial warmth, this because of Hydro power and oil (yeah I know, our big carbon footprint) and enjoy the snow falling outside. When I was in Toronto the people sleeping in the open street all had those thermal sleeping bags as they lay there but it has to still be life threatening.

Sounds quite miserable Taps. I suppose one adapts or goes under. Lucky if one is born in a warm country if one is fated to be so unlucky.

I do not know how they do it during those winter months. And we have had some rough winters over the last few years.

A home is so much more than just a few walls and when you don't have that comfort life can be difficult like the one described in these lines. Yes its a frightening thought....

Makes me feel petty to get my nose out of joint because there's so much

work involved in keeping the house and yard in halfway decent shape..

So well told. Makes one feel what that person is feeling. A very frightening thought...
