A super blog Taps. I would not have believed folk would choose to live near that river.

I suppose there might be salvage of sorts drifting down and fish to hook. It just does not feel right.

The river is quite mystical I believe TAPS - it does take you away with your current of thoughts. Lovely poem.

Haunting poems, TAPS. So sad, their desperation, and it leaves us wondering if there was anything at all we could have done....

Good work as is usual. I love rivers, we have a lot of various sizes, none like the Missouri or Mississippi. Love your work always do.

I flew over Australia's biggest River just a few years ago. The Mighty Murray that other Rivers feed into ...

I felt so sad. Compared to all the beautiful huge wide rivers in the all of North America and then the great lakes, the mighty Murray looks like a little Creek.

TAPS

Great photo! And both poems are so wonderful! Your note puts them into a perspective of haunting desperation that the homeless must feel. Off topic, do you know if the River ever was home to gambing river boats? I have heard stories...
