It would not surprise me to see Centrists in both parties get together to form a party. That could be the end result after the two parties undergo their own splintering. I see Big Money and a lack of a willingness to compromise on both sides as why we could end up with four parties.

If we do end up with a more than two viable parties, Duverger's Law would be crushed.
