Can't say I ever wanted jewels Bill. One of my Aunt's gave me a sixpence on a chain. She then about three months later asked for it back as it was a heirloom to be given to a namesake. She got quite ratty when I forgot to bring it back, I did in the end I was glad to get rid of it.

It is a way in which one can show fashion. And fashion is a big part of many people's lives.

I agree with Kabu. Also, I think for some there is an innate liking for jewelry, others, not so much.

it is nice to adorn oneself with pretty things. not necessarily expensive but something that dresses up waht one is wearing. A clever friend once told me one doesn't need expensive clothes if their hair is neat, make up correct but understated and something eye catching like rings, a necklace and or earings. One good quality watch can be all that is needed especially for a man.
