How 'bout if we keep offenders in prison for their full terms? How does funding to provide increased mental health services for those in need sound; and how would it be if there was a reopening of the mental hospitals which have been closed sound? How do increased police staffing, better lighting, installation of panic buttons, and increased security features sound? How would it be if we dealt with criminals from our own country and returned other criminals to their country of origin? Mind you, I said "criminals."

Definitely better lighting. I would also recommend that people walk in groups and that there are more emergency buttons stationed around.
