Re: Re: Re: TAPS

Let me tender my apologies TAPS, only "Jesus Is Truth". You are venerable for me, will be, always. So is Jesus and the Holy Bible to me. Have I ever written with a slant? Not, as far as I can remember. I did not mention what you wished in my article, simply because they were not relevant to the topic. Thanks.

Re: Re:

Yes, I admit that I am biased in that I believe the teachings of The Holy Bible.  That is why I don't read your posts very often because i have a tendency to speak up in reply.  You are very good at your writing.  They are very interesting and well done.  Most often I stay away because I know I probably will hurt your feelings again as I have in the past and I don't really want to offend.  "Truth is beauty and beauty is Truth" and to me Jesus IS Truth.

Re: anibanerjee

Thank you so very much, Presta. There is that ecumenical streak in me which makes me accept all religions as embodiments of truth! different ways or language, that's all. Diversity is the very order of Nature itself, and Nature is God's creation. So, it follows that God Himself loves variety. They are thus not contradictory, but complimentary. For me, the attitude 'take it or leave it' is the best stance any religion can take, with no commandments. And dear Presta, I sincerely find you a most sagacious person, very balanced, courteous, humble and happy personality.

Re: TAPS

I honestly don't know how to answer your question, but I have mentioned in my post t 'call it by whatever name you will'. Paradise Lost, the earlier series, there was a whole lot of discussions on the Son of God, Jesus. When you say neither religion nor spirituality counts for much without Him, then I can see a bias. I am myself a fan of Jesus, of Buddha, of Mohammed, of Maheveer, of Krishna, of Zarathustra. If say, I single out only Jesus, then a Mohammedan or a Buddhist will come and say religion or spirituality has no meaning for me without so and so. In my contributions I take care not to hurt anyone's religious sentiments.Truth is beauty and beauty is Truth, as Keats says, and after all, Truth has no religion. Thank you for raiising such doubts.

Re: Ani

Thanks Wiley. It was my endeavour to bring the whole discussions we've had for the past few days, to ultimately match with exactly how you feel. Then only I have done my job successfully.

Re: kabu

EXactly so, a rose by any other name would stil be a rose. The essence that from the rose is given out is nectarine.

A most interesting post, with most interesting thoughts presented, some of which are strikingly familiar to me. Ah, but I am not sagacious enough to comment further, though I do enjoy thinking... Great work and thank you for tackling a very, very difficult topic.

I must say that I haven't read many of your posts, so I might have missed it, but as you say, there is a very big difference between religion and spirituality, but I see no mention of Jesus, The Christ, The Light of the World, The Way, The Truth, The Word...without Him I would be nothing.  Neither religion nor spirituality counts for much without Him.

Re: Justi

Why, what happened? Did you stop in the middle of a comment and accidentally pressed some button? What was, and what is there to feel sorry about?

Re: Kabu

Religion binds, and spirituality frees. Religion comes from the Latin word Relgare, which means to bind, Thanxalot.

There is clear demarcation between religion and spirituality. Spirituality is about liberation. And religion, as it is understood and practiced, is about control. At the lowest level religions tend to control through ignorance and blind belief. They do not wish to be questioned, because they have no answers.

I loved this as it is exactly how I feel.Thank you for writing.

the names are unfamiliar to me as they are unimportant. The context of your post is what thrills me. I long ago gave away religion and church because they were controlling, you can find anywhere a passage in the Bible to  back your argument.

Spirituality on the other hand as you write, sets one free to discover paradise rediscovered.

Re: FSI

I am happy that your comment springs from a very good understanding of what I wished to convey. That I have been able to make the subject clear is your encouragement. So, thank you for this.

You do a great job drawing a distinction between the two. A lot of people often lump them together.
