I don't want to dis on everything new, or that I don't understand, but I do get sad over some of the old values that seem to have been abandoned, shoved aside by things of dubious worth. But it's human nature, to cling to the familiar with one hand, while the other grabs at the shiny new stuff.

Maybe something about being "broad in the beam" like a sturdy ship?
I think deep down is where we hold our most precious values, but they sit there quietly until roused, and until then we get all thrilled by shiny things, manageable things...

Well of course I agree Ciel I don't want to get bashed. Do you think they were called broads originally because they became slightly larger? It does seem though that more value is being placed these days on things that have no value.It does not take long to grow old these days it does take while to become wiser.

perhaps all we can do is to write. family anecdote, how life was, the good and the bad. Maybe sometime someone will pick up that book and learn something. Wonderful Post.
