You are bringing me back to middle school and high school science.

Nautikos

Great post but no I'm not getting into any studying of particle physics. LOL

Re:

I didn't mean can you see my chair. I probably don't have a chair that you would want. I do have a nice old park bench outside but you can't have that either.

Have I somehow lost the main topic here?

I follow you so far...LOL! Was introduced to that concept as a child; atoms comprising, I was going to say 'everything' but will edit myself here, what?, comprising our known  universe(s). And I like where I think this is going!

I had trouble with this at University. Guess I didn't learn much then. So if Mr. Graysome is just an illusion a crapola load of particles protons neurons and the other one...then how come I see him and he can yap at me until I feed him. How do we identify matter as things. philosophy will ask me how i know that's a chair and i can answer that with logic.

I feel it, I see sit, I sit on it. it is hard matter if a stumble into it and it will leave me bruised and we the people have decided to call it a chair. So it is a chair and whether you see the same color and shape that I do doesn't matter cos you can do everything with that chair that I can do...but if it is just particles of matter then how come it stays the same. it doesn't fade in and out of view, or even moves unless I move it physically and I feel its weight.

perhaps I am just walking around in a maze here.

This seems to be a quite intelligent explanation,Naut. I admit I asked Arthur as he likes science. Look forward to the next episode. Looks like a lot of work to me.
