And before I forget:

Sorry to hear about the Type II Diabetes. Dietary adjustments help, but also exercise...

TAPS

Like you, I lovce flowers! But unlike you, I rarely know their names...And when I began reading the part about pies, a vision of key lime pie flashed through my mind - lemon meringue is close, LOL...

Re: RPresta

The Doc is pleased that I keep my A1c level in a range he thinks is good for me.

Re: Pat_B

"A bite or two"  LOL.  Remember that old commercial, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!"

Re: Kabu

You are right, I am fine.  But....now the piece I brought home for Son #1 is still in the fridge.  He is not eating it and it is tempting me.  I should squash it with the flyswatter or something.

Re: CCT

You are so helpful.  The lemon meringue pie was so good I brought one piece home for Son #1.  He is not eating it, so you gave me the idea to slice off the meringue and eat the lemon.  LOL

I know the feeling Taps I bought two custard tarts and when I looked at the date they had to be eaten straight away. So I just sliced the icing off the tops and felt quite proud of myself.

You write of such beautiful things, flowers, family and food.

Oh and the diabetic sugar surge... it will be fine. When I was running the nursing home we would have a BBQ in the courtyard several times a year and it was finished with an ice cream in a cone. I decided everyone needed an ice cream in a cone to lick so I would leave a message that no BSL were to be taken the next day. I promise that it never did any harm.

I've had a lily bloom into November love. I snacked often on my patio. Earlier, we had barbeques in the yard. And there was my friend in Virginia, his Cousin Bill, and friend that would stop by once a summer and enjoy a cold drink on the patio.

It has been a while since I have had a pie. You have me wanting one.

Guess the free pie cost you some worry...

How nice it would be if we could just lose ten pounds, just take a bite or two...

Beautiful flowers alway cheer, it seems. Good food and good coompany just make it better! And to frost your cake, so to speak, free pie! Yes, Diabetes is difficult. Not as simple to control as it sounds in theory. Tomorrow is a new day. And the pie sounds like it was scrumptous!
