That poem...
Took about 15 minutes to write and was an exercise to force myself to do a poem as the first line reveals. Then it took a turn and yes in these times I fear this scenario is on a lot of folks minds, whether they are keenly aware of it or not. I remember in 1958 seeing air force planes on training maneuvers and wondered if they might be Russian bombers headed to wipe out Grand Coulee Dam. So it has been on my mind a long time, way too long.
